Senior Night

By Avila Ashland

There are many perks that come along with being active and involved in school sports and activities here at West Hills. One special thing we do at our sports events is senior night. Senior night is when all the seniors that are playing in that particular sport are honored for their time at their last game. This is done by having their family come, speeches are given, and posters are made. This is a fun way to say thank you and good bye to the seniors by giving them a special night dedicated to them. So if you’re a senior make sure you keep working hard and persevering in whatever sports you’re participating in, so your senior night will be that much more special.

Sports

By Willoughby

Sports are great and fun way to meet new and exciting people who like the same sport as you. Most people think sports take up to much time or they are a waste of time. That is all wrong sports are a great way to get in shape and they only take up an hour or two of your day. West Hills offers a variety of sports which include, baseball, soccer, swim and dive, tennis, basketball, golf, water polo, football, track, cross country, and much more. West Hills has the most elite sports teams in the district because we always win our championships. If you are on the fence about joining a sports team I highly recommend it.

Class of 2018 Club

By Audrey Lechien

Some of the main clubs at West Hills are the class clubs. These clubs are specifically for organizing class activities, fundraisers etc. I know a couple of people in the class of 2018 club and I decided to ask one of them some questions. Senior Kendall Cady is vice-president of ASB and is also a part of the class of 2018 club. Kendall said during the meetings they do discussing and planning. Much of the time is spent on planning fundraisers and dances such as prom. Each class has an officer that holds all the meetings. For the class of 2018, Ms. Young is the officer. When prompted with the question “what is your favorite part of being in this club?”, Kendall said “I love being involved in the school. Also I wanted our class to have the best senior year possible and I liked being in control of so much”. I then asked her how long she had been in the club and she said “I have been a class of 2018 club member since freshman year”. To conclude the interview I asked Kendall what she would say to anyone considering joining their class’ club. She responded with “I would highly recommend it! I got to meet so many new people and high school is a lot more fun when you get involved”.
