This week I visited atheist club which meets in S11 every Wednesday at lunch. Although the name implies that it is a club for atheists. Christian, Catholic, and Mormon’s are members as well. It is better described as a religion club that discusses religious ideals with presentations and debates as to why people believe certain things. The club is run by junior student, Derek Tingey, who hopes to create several deep discussions for both sides of the religious argument to consider. Most days begin with Derek or another member stating the main subject of the week and a short powerpoint presentation to help present his ideas. The club members then give their opinions on the topic and discuss them. This discussion will usually leads to some debates and fairly deep conversation about certain aspects of religion or atheism.
